Adventures in Pine, AZ: A Lavender Tale and The Secrets of the Lavender Chamomile Scones

Well, howdy there, folks!

Pull up a chair, maybe grab a cup of joe (or a fancy iced lavender latte if you're feeling a touch adventurous). I've got a yarn to spin. Picture this: Pine, AZ. A place where the pines reach the sky, and the air is as crisp as a fresh apple straight from the orchard. You with me? Great. Now, let's sprinkle a touch of purple in that image, and voila! We're at the Pine Lavender Farm, and things are about to get spicy, or should I say...herbaceous?

I visited this place last summer. I'd heard rumors about it, tales of a fragrant purple sea swaying gently under the wide-open skies. I was intrigued, and being your ever-dedicated content creator, I decided to find out if the tales were true.

I tell you, friends, the moment I set foot on that farm, I was awash in a wave of lavender scent so strong it would've made a skunk hold its nose. The sight was even more impressive. Purple blooms as far as the eye could see, a purple sea that made me feel like the king of the lavender world. I half expected a lavender crown to be placed on my head!

While at the farm, I met the loveliest folks who took me on a tour, introduced me to the lavender plants, and even allowed me to take some lavender buds home. I learned that they use the buds to make everything from essential oils, lotions, soaps, to culinary delights. And, that's where our recipe comes in.

The Pine Lavender Farm has a secret weapon, a culinary ace up their sleeve - their famous lavender can be used to bake your own fresh lavender chamomile scones. These babies are slightly sweet, a touch crumbly, and bursting with lavender-chamomile flavor. One bite and you'd swear you were munching on a piece of heaven itself.

In the spirit of sharing, I'm passing a recipe on to you.

Here's what you'll need:

**Ingredients**:

- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

- 2 tablespoons honey

- 1/2 teaspoon salt

- 2 teaspoons dried lavender buds

- 2 teaspoons dried chamomile flowers

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter

- 1 large egg, slightly beaten

- 3/4 cup heavy cream

- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

**Instructions**:

1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.

2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, lavender buds, and chamomile flowers.

3. Cut in the butter with a pastry blender until you have a crumbly mix.

4. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream and honey over medium-low heat for about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool.

5. Whisk the egg and vanilla into the cooled cream-honey mix.

6. Pour this into your flour mixture. Stir until combined, but be careful not to overmix. You want it just combined.

7. Put your dough on a lightly floured surface and knead until combined, about 10-12 strokes.

8. Gently shape the dough into a rectangle, about an inch thick. Cut this into triangles and place them on your prepared baking sheet, 2 inches apart.

9. Brush the tops with some more heavy cream and bake for about 15 minutes or until they're lightly browned.

10. Let them cool, then serve with some honey or perhaps a dab of lemon curd.

Now you've got your very own Pine Lavender Farm experience right in your kitchen! Have a tea party, serve them at brunch, or enjoy them solo - these lavender chamomile scones are a piece of heaven, no matter how you eat them.

That's it for now, folks! Until next time, keep exploring, keep baking, and remember: there's always room for a dash of humor and a pinch of adventure in everything we do. Until our next tale, keep the kettle hot and the scones sweet!
